About Me

My photo
I created this blog back in August 2010. The focus was mainly on Material things. Though I am still a lover of material things however, I feel that there are plenty of bloggers out there that feeds into this frenzy of having this constant want over basic necessities. Instead, this is just going to be a blog about my adventures through life. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!! ^^ Please comment and subscribe!

Buddhist Economics

I was given this article to read about Buddhist Economics and I found it very interesting:
Especially, this particular phrase:
"To organize work in such a manner that it becomes  meaningless,  boring,  stultifying, or  nerve-racking for the worker  would be  little  short of  criminal; it  would  indicate a  greater concern with goods than with people, an  evil  lack of compassion  and a soul-destroying degree of  attachment to the most primitive  side of  this worldly existence."

My Translation:
It is CRIMINAL/ EVIL if ones work becomes meaningless, boring, stultifying, or nerve racking. If these types of situations occur it would mean that the goods produced are more important than the people working to make those goods. Which indicates a EVIL lack of compassion on the employers part and a soul destroying attachment to make a paycheck becomes the most basic of existence.  (isn't that sad?)

OH AND I DELETED FACEBOOK TODAY!

  1. I believe in working for a good company that has generally values along with good work colleagues, which usually creates a good work environment.

At the moment I'm content with the company I work for and with my current role. I believe in ongoing career progression which usually involves an pay increase and potentially more responsibilities.

I recently deferred my Accounting degree because I know I will not be able to sustain an Accounting job of some type for long, because of my personality. I cannot stand repetitiveness, concrete processes and accuracy which is what Accounting is all about.

Is there any reason why you deleted your facebook account?

  2. Amy, you are much too interesting of a person, i think to be an accountant. You are soo fantastically artistic and fun as well as passionate. Let me know what you decide on!

To answer you question on FB. I deleted my facebook account because i noticed people were monitoring my every move. It really creeps me out that people do not have better things to do other than spy on what your aspirations are as well as using it against you in a condescending manner.
