About Me

My photo
I created this blog back in August 2010. The focus was mainly on Material things. Though I am still a lover of material things however, I feel that there are plenty of bloggers out there that feeds into this frenzy of having this constant want over basic necessities. Instead, this is just going to be a blog about my adventures through life. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!! ^^ Please comment and subscribe!

Buddhist Economics

I was given this article to read about Buddhist Economics and I found it very interesting:
Especially, this particular phrase:
"To organize work in such a manner that it becomes  meaningless,  boring,  stultifying, or  nerve-racking for the worker  would be  little  short of  criminal; it  would  indicate a  greater concern with goods than with people, an  evil  lack of compassion  and a soul-destroying degree of  attachment to the most primitive  side of  this worldly existence."

My Translation:
It is CRIMINAL/ EVIL if ones work becomes meaningless, boring, stultifying, or nerve racking. If these types of situations occur it would mean that the goods produced are more important than the people working to make those goods. Which indicates a EVIL lack of compassion on the employers part and a soul destroying attachment to make a paycheck becomes the most basic of existence.  (isn't that sad?)

NEW FOCUS!

Happy New Years 2011 To All My Readers!

I am sorry that I've been gone for so long! I've been so busy with every aspect of life: School, Planning Graduation, Getting ready for real life after graduation, etc.. I can honestly tell you that I wont be updating this as often as I use to simply because I use to blog about the most material things possible and it gave me something to talk about. Wow, sorry that sounds incredibly superficial and vein. Honestly speaking though, I was. However, I am not saying that I am not vein, but lately I've come to realize not to focus so much on MATERIAL things and more on building a career, life, family, and friends.

TOTAL SEGWAY: This is the Christmas gift "We" the kids gave to My mother in Law. She was in tears, it was crazy how she reacted. the entire family was crying. It was such a special moment. Hope you all had such a special moment this past Christmas. ^^

I feel at this moment I might be contradictory to what I've said above about material things. But, in order to have everything I want in the world is to be successful in my career. This is my personal Philosophy, which I am entitled to.  In my opinion, wealth does measure success. One day, I want to be able to purchase what ever I want without having to budget or be scared living from pay check to pay check. My new found realization has forced me to save and put my focus in another direction so I am capable of attaining material things without substituting money for food instead for a lipgloss.

I hope all my readers can understand that saving is the key to being successful. I don't believe people understand how buying little things here and there can really effect their bottom line. $5-$6 starbucks in the morning will cost you $1825 a YEAR, not to mention that lipgloss that you buy every 2-3 months @ $12 a pop, or those eye shadow pallets that seem completely worth the quantity @$54 a pop, etc... can easily add up to a lot of money. There is always a justification to spending money, but that what marketing is all about. "They" the marketers are able to convince and confuse you to believe that your WANTS are NECESSITIES. Its disturbing.    Please make sure you are budgeting yourself, and understanding your finances before you spend till your knee deep in debt. When you are knee deep in debt, that debt just keeps growing. You are purchasing things with your credit card thinking you'll be able to pay it back. You start off good, then you start paying the minimum, then you miss one payment, then you miss a couple. The next thing you notice is that you can't pay back the credit cards, your credit score is down, and your dream go down the drain. It s soo sad to see people end up in this spiral of debt, but it happens very often because people have the misconception and think they can have what ever they want and at whatever time.

I think from now on I want to teach from experience on my blog. I know this is a totally different avenue than what I started this blog with. But, I absolutely think it is important to know about how every decision can enable you to have an amazing future. Think positive and allow yourself a chance at an amazing future. You are worth it.

Cheers to the beginning of 2011 for it will be a wonderful start to a brilliant and successful future! ^^

Confessions of a shop-aholic!! T.T

**SHOP-AHOLIC**
T.T

Shopping gives me a high. A type of high and happiness that I know I simply can not replace...But after that high is over, your left with empty pockets. Anyway, I've been collecting, hauling none stop.

Ok...Girls. I've been loving Youtube, Blogging and Twitter. I've made so many sweet friends, and can honestly say that I that I feel soo lucky to have found this outlet. I've finally been able to become comfortable with myself and embrace my Asian culture and how I look. Growing up in the USA you basically only have Caucasians in the media to look to, and because I look different, I've never felt beautiful. I give many thanks to Xppinkx as well as frmheadtotoe to show me that being Asian is beautiful and yes, I owe my new found vanity to them.  However, at the same time this outlet is really bad for my wallet. I've really been digging a hole in my bank account that is starting to look horrendous! I can honestly say that this is my official last haul for the next 3 months!

My Hautelook package...

I got this for $18! It was a Great Deal! The shadows are amazing...ever better than the Stila Shadows I got from Costco and not to mention way bigger (FYI, I am returning that palette). The colors are amazing and the bronzers and blushes and high lighters are killer! There is also gorgeous lip glosses. Anyway, if you missed the sale on Hautelook you can buy it online for I believe around $24? Its worth it as a gift to friend, family or yourself if you are just starting your make up collection! JOIN HAUTELOOK  http://www.hautelook.com/invite/ALo101 and hook me up!

All these Lashes were also from the Hautelook package. All these lashes I believe came out to $14! Yes it was a steal!

I got this top at H&M and a couple of cardigans at Ann Taylor. Gosh, I believe I spent about $300 that day just on clothes! >.< Even tho I love this top I am returning it. I might return one of the cardigans I purchased from Ann Taylor as well. Sorry i don't have a picture of those cardigans because I don't have a full length mirror at home to really show you how cute it is on!

Thanks to Xppinkx I got this amazing cleanser! I've recently purchase the Falsies mascara by Maybelline and though I love the effect it gives, its a pain in the ass to take off! @.@ This stuff is magic! My skin feels great after I use this product. At first it feels oily but everything comes off so easily! Not only that, the second it touches water it dissolves and leaves no residue at all. ^^ Your skin also feels really moist afterwards. I love it! Thanks Xppinkx...now I don't have to buy that bottle lancome Bitone eye makeup remover for $26 and I have a face wash!

This is what I use along with the Sheshiedo cleanser. I do this so I can see all the dirt that comes off my face. Hahaha its very interesting!

I've tweeted about this! I was soo excited about finding TheFaceShop around my area! Anyway, I've been breaking out a lot and I purchased a face mask.

I got around to using this mask today. Left it on for 20 min and washed it off...and then my face felt flushed afterwards. I hope that means its working...

I also found an Ulta around my area! See this shit just doesn't end! I need to stop looking for an excuse to buy things. I ended up purchasing a jumbo NYX white eye pencil as well as a Rimmel natural lip liner.

I am also on a hunt for Purple Shadows...I LOVE PURPLE:

This is MAC "Coygirl" and it looks amazing on Asian Skin. Wow... it looks like your blushing from within. I LOVE LOVE PURPLE BLUSHES!

I have a lot more items that I didn't get around to taking pictures of...but this is all within the last week. @.@ Its insane, and I need to stop!

YES...and I challenge all of you to this CONFESSIONS TAG.

I want to spread the word that even though it is healthy to express ourselves, we need to make sure that we are being smart about it!! I am not pointing fingers, but ladies you know who you are. I swear I log into youtube every hour just to see if there is another video from my favorite gurus have uploaded. I really look forward to what new products they have purchased and where I can find it! >.< Its insane! Twitter is just as bad for me because I can get instant responses on the products I am interested in buying... not only that everyone suggester different products and it just makes me WANT WANT WANT! Its endless, and its starting to get scary.

My goal in the next three months is to rediscover all the items that I have purchased since summer. Its going to be hard because that high of buying a new product is going to be gone but its not worth my future. I plan on buying another house within the next three to four years! Simple pleasures now, however little can slowly paralyze you.

In this Confessions Tag, The Goal is to:
1.  STOP SHOPPING, STOP SPENDING.
2. Start SAVING for something BIG that will affect your future. (its ok to buy one thing you absolutely love each month but do not let it go over $60. I know its tough!)
3. Let your readers know what you are saving for and commit to it.
4. DO NOT CHEAT because your twitter readers will find out!
5. Remember that this is suppose to help you...your future is very important!

Thanks for reading girls! If you end up doing this tag, please leave your website in the comments below so I can read your Confessions Tag!

SAVE YOUR DOLLARS GIRLS!!

I was determined to find a dupe for Nars Turkish Delight so I went on Youtube to gain some knowledge as to what might be a comparable dupe.I heard from Nuberxo (SERIOUSLY THO, check her out. <3 her!) I can't stand that I spent $24 on Turkish Delight and to make matters worse it doesn't even stay on the lip! Turkish Delight disappears in  less than 30mins and it bleeds beyond my lip line in a matter of seconds! Don't get me wrong! I absolutely die for the color, but again for $24 dollars!? Not worth the hassle if there is something better!

Here we go...ARE YOU READY GIRLS?! The PERFECT DUPE FOR NARS TURKISH DELIGHT:

VictoriasSecret: Lipgloss in Innocent!

Which on is which can you tell!?

On the left we have VictoriasSecrets: Innocent, On the Right we have Nars: Turkish Delight! (Sorry about the ugly blink. I did it so I can tell the difference which was which) lol ^^ Innocent is a lot more affordable than Turkish Delight. A whole $14 cheaper! WOOAHH! Not only is it more affordable, its got better staying power, it doesn't bleed as much, I am not reapplying it every second! ^^ NEW LOVE!

Since I was at VictoriasSecret and because I saved soo much I decided to pick me up a really cute lipstick I had been eyeing for a while.

"It girl" is from the Perfect Lipstick line. I love the mauve Pink. Its simply delicious!

Hope this was helpful to you Ladies! RETURN THAT TURKISH DELIGHT AND PICK UP INNOCENT!

Oh and because of Nur on youtube (Her link is above) I am obessed with finding a purple blush. I walked into sephora on my voyage to find a Turkish Delight dupe and came across a Purple blush but they were all out at the store. Anyway, I put it on and I was instantly in love! I can't wait till they restock it. I wish wish wish there was a cheaper brand of purple blushes tho...If you know some, I'd like to KNOW! ^^ Thanks for Reading!

HOLY HAUL!!!

Hello Readers. So I've been Hauling like crazy lately here and there since October and now we are in December! Schools been crazy which makes it hard to do blogs but I finally found sometime to share with you all what I have collected lately. ^^ I hope you guys enjoy! If you have questions add me on Twitter and I'll be glad to answer any of them! ^^

I got this Palette from BH Cosmetics. 120 very pigmented shadows. I absolutley love this palette! Love all the colors and its perfect for someone that just newly into Makeup! ^^  I believe it was $24 dollars at 30% off because of Cyber Monday! STEAL!

If you've been following my on twitter you know my story about Uggs. Now I have a pair of Uggs already but they've been through two years of ABUSE! I wore them Rain or Shine, puddles and all. I did not take care of them at all. By the time I was done with my Uggs they had holes in the front. I was in desperate need for some Uggs and I simply Do not have a Cash right now to throw $180 for a pair. I even got ripped off online by a too good to be true deal on Uggs! 50% off is way too good and I realized they were just buying time to get my money...I was never going to get my Uggs. DO NOT GO TO THIS SITE AND BUY UGGS!!!!! usuggaustralia.com If you know anything about shutting down a website, please do that to this one! I ended up getting these Ugg Dupes at Costco! I have reason to believe these are actually from the Uggs Manufacturer because when I put my foot in the boots it felt just like the first time I put real Uggs on! The only thing missing is the Logo! GO OUT AND GET YOURSELF A PAIR at $36!!!!!

Ladies...Ladies...Ladies, If you have not tried Nars Turkish Delight make sure you go to your Local Sephora and try it. Its such a beautiful milky pink. Simply Beautiful! I am looking for a dupe because I might have to return this one because the price tag kinda makes me sick. At $24 a pop! Thats Robbery! I hear Elf has a dupe for only $1 called bubble gum! Various Guru's on Youtube talks about Turkish Delight Dupes as well, so look it up! ^^

I snagged this also at COSTCO! Ladies please go to your local Costco, this palette is simply beautiful!

All the colors are incredibly pigmented. If I remember correctly and by referring to the picture..hehe There are 30 eye shadows, 15 lipglosses, 2 bronzers, 1highlighter, 2 blushes, one black eyeliner, one lipliner and 4 brushes for under $20! Perfect for a xmas gift to self or a good friend! ^^ VERY SNAGABLE!

The colors are very user friendly. Nothing soo dramatic to intimate a beginner like me!

I really need a jacket this Holiday season... So I picked this adorable Jacket up at H&M. I believe it was under $60. Its perfect!

A Strong Shoulder Dress Jacket. Absolutely adorable! H&M

Leather front panel pants. H&M

The warmest scarf I own! GAP

Best hair conditioner ever! Ladies if you have very dry and processed hair: Let me explain processed. In the last two months I have permed my hair, dyed my hair, straighten my hair everyday because I hated the perm, then I dyed it, lastly I permed it straight twice because it didn't work the first time! With all that said my hair is in better shape then when I first started the whole process because of this hair conditioner! It smells like apples too! Snagable! (my husband just spilled half of this bottle! >.< $12 dollar...mean $6 down the drain)

I've been watching Fuzkittie on youtube a lot lately and she just raves about the MAC mineralize Skin Finishes...

I absolutely love the soft and gentle which gives you a very beautiful glow! The Medium plus keeps my makeup in place all day! I have very oily skin, so these are definitely a must have for me! ^^ Gotta be glow-y in the holiday season! Tis the season to be glow-y!!

My first time at the faceshop! I picked up this lip gloss and I simply love it..I might go back and see if I can find a lip gloss that dupes the turkish delight by Nars!

Now that I am looking at this post...I feel like I am missing a lot more items. I might have to update this post a little bit later with more things I've purchased over the past 2 months! Stay Tuned!! I might just do a October/ November Favorites Blog Soon!

I KNOW WHATS MISSING FROM THIS POST!!! MY HAUTELOOK purchase that hasn't arrived yet! I knew something was missing! I'll post more once all my items arrives! If you haven't  joined http://www.hautelook.com/invite/ALo101 please click on this link and join! They have soo many amazing deals, its a different steal everyday!
